Early life and Education
Scott Scheffler is an American professional golfer who was born on June 21, 1996, in Ridgewood, New Jersey.
He grew up in Dallas and went to Highland Park High School.
Scheffler began playing golf at an early age and swiftly rose to become one of Texas’ finest junior golfers.
He won several competitions, including the 2013 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship, one of the world’s most prominent junior golf championships.
Scheffler graduated from Highland Park High School in 2014 and went on to play college golf for the Texas Longhorns at the University of Texas at Austin.
He was a three-time All-American at Texas and won five individual titles.
Scheffler became professional in 2017 and began playing on the Korn Ferry Tour, the PGA Tour’s developmental tour.

Scheffler won the WM Phoenix Open on the third hole of a sudden-death playoff against Patrick Cantlay on February 13, 2022.
He won his second PGA Tour championship three weeks later at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Orlando, Florida.
He defeated Viktor Hovland, Billy Horschel, and Tyrrell Hatton by one stroke.
Scheffler won the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play three weeks later in Austin, Texas, defeating Kevin Kisner in the final match.
With this victory, Scheffler ascended to the top of the Official World Golf Ranking.
Scheffler won the Masters Tournament by three shots over Rory McIlroy on April 10, 2022.
Scheffler joined Ian Woosnam (1991), Fred Couples (1992), Tiger Woods (2001, 2002), and Dustin Johnson as the sixth golfer to begin the Master’s Tournament ranked No. 1 in the world and go on to win the Masters (2020).
