Max Emilian Verstappen, born September 30, 1997, is a Dutch racing driver who won the Formula One World Championship in 2021 and 2022.
He participates in Formula One for Red Bull Racing under the Dutch flag.
Verstappen is the son of racing drivers Jos Verstappen and Sophie Kumapen, who both raced in Formula One.
Early life and Education
Max Verstappen was born in Hasselt, Belgium, to Jos Verstappen and Sophie Kumpen.
He moved in with his father after his parents divorced while he was a child, while his younger sister Victoria moved in with their mother.
Verstappen also has three younger half-siblings from his father’s second and current marriage.
He began racing soon after, and by 2003, he was regularly karting in Genk, Belgium.

Career
At the 2015 Australian Grand Prix, he became Formula One’s youngest driver at the age of 17 years, and 166 days.
Verstappen spent the 2015 season with Scuderia Toro Rosso before being promoted to parent team Red Bull Racing after four races as a replacement for Daniil Kvyat.
He won the 2016 Spanish Grand Prix on his Red Bull Racing debut at the age of 18, becoming the youngest-ever driver and the first Dutch driver to do it.
Max became the first Dutch driver to win the Formula One World Championship.
And also the 34th Formula One World Drivers’ Champion after winning the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in 2021.
The following season, he won his second consecutive Formula One title.
Verstappen has 36 victories and 21 pole positions as of the 2023 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
At the 2021 French Grand Prix, he achieved his first career hat-trick, and at the 2021 Austrian Grand Prix, he completed his maiden grand slam.
At the 2022 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, he completed his second grand slam.
Verstappen has signed a contract extension that will keep him with Red Bull until at least the conclusion of the 2028 season.
Personal Life
Verstappen has been dating Kelly Piquet, the daughter of Nelson Piquet, a three-time Formula One World Champion and former Brazilian racing driver, since 2020.
Kelly formerly dated Russian Formula One driver Daniil Kvyat, with whom she has a daughter.
Max Verstappen loves football and supports FC Barcelona.
