Dwayne Douglas Johnson, born May 2, 1972, is an American actor and former professional wrestler better known by his ring name The Rock.
Generally recognized as one of the best professional wrestlers of all time.
Early Life and Education
Dwayne Douglas Johnson, also known as “The Rock,” was born on May 2, 1972, in Hayward, California, to Ata Maivia and Rocky Johnson.
His parents are of Black Nova Scotian and Samoan heritage.
Johnson’s father, Rocky Johnson, was a professional wrestler, and his maternal grandfather, Peter Maivia, was also a professional wrestler.
Johnson’s family moved frequently during his childhood, as his father’s job took him to different wrestling territories around the country.
Johnson attended multiple high schools, including President William McKinley High School in Honolulu, Hawaii, and Freedom High School in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
Johnson went on to play football at the University of Miami, where he was a defensive lineman on the Hurricanes’ 1991 national championship team.

Career
Dwayne Johnson, also known as “The Rock,” has had a successful career in both professional wrestling and acting.
Johnson began his professional wrestling career in 1996 with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), which later became WWE.
He quickly became one of the most popular wrestlers of the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Winning multiple championships and headlining several major events, including WrestleMania.
Johnson left WWE in 2004 to pursue an acting career.
He made his film debut in “The Scorpion King” in 2002.
He has since appeared in numerous movies, including “Fast & Furious” franchise, “Jumanji” franchise, “Moana,” and “Black Adam.”
In addition to his film career, Johnson has also appeared in several television shows, including “Ballers” and “Young Rock.”
Johnson has also been involved in various business ventures, including a partnership with Under Armour and the founding of his own production company, Seven Bucks Productions.
Johnson has won several awards for his acting and wrestling, including a Teen Choice Award, a People’s Choice Award, and multiple WWE championships.

Personal Life
Johnson has been married twice. He was married to Dany Garcia from 1997 to 2007, and they have one daughter together named Simone.
Johnson then married Lauren Hashian in 2019, and they have two daughters together named Tiana and Jasmine.
Johnson is close with his family, including his mother Ata Maivia, who is the daughter of professional wrestler Peter Maivia.
His cousin Roman Reigns is also a professional wrestler.
WWE confirmed in February 2020 that Johnson’s daughter Simone has begun training at the WWE Performance Center.
